HOW TO APPLY
On-Line at www.marbles.com. The application process is straight forward, make
sure you have your addresses for the last three years, employment and bank account
details to hand. Upon completion of the application form, press the sumbit button
and an immediate decision is given, this takes about 30 seconds.

CREDIT LIMIT
Your credit limit is given to you the same time you are advised
your application is successful. I find it to be quite generous.
Credit card companies are not yet allowed to issue cards without the persons
signature, therefore all the paperwork is sent out for your to check and sign,
together with a pre-paid first class envelope. Once checked, signed and returned
your card will be issued shortly afterwards, together with some balance transfer
cheques and a pin number, if requested. You will also be provided with details
allowing you to log into the web-site and manage your account. The password
issued by them is a temporary one, and you change it on your first visit to
something more familier and easier to remember.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
The account can be managed totally on-line. Features include: viewing the last 6
months statements, viewing transactions since last your last statement, make
payments debit card payments, Making changes to your personal details, You are
also allowed to change your statement date, once a year, free of charge. Further
changes cost £10 a time. I have found this a useful feature, as having recently
changed my job, I found my new pay-date did not coincide with me making payments
on the account. You can also request credit limit increases on-line, although I
believe you have to run your account properly for 6 months before they will do this.
Marbles state that they will change your credit limit to that of your highest other credit
card, although I have not tried this, but its probably because they want your business.
You can also query something on your account which does not appear correct.
The site also offers a number of links to shopping partners, once logged into your account.

APR's
The introductory rate for purchases and balance transfers is currently 4.5%
for a six month period, and thereafter their interest rate is comparable with
other credit card suppliers (15.9% APR) and much lower than many of the High
Street Banks. They also offer an on-line fraud gurantee.
In addition to the introductory APR, they occasionally offer incentive rates
allowing you to transfer other balances, and make savings. The current offer
to selected customers is 7.5%.

In addition, if there is not an offer on at the time, and you
want to transfer a balance ring them and they will sometimes offer a special
rate.

TELEPHONE SERVICE
I have not had much to do with their telephone line, except when the internet
site fails, which initially was quite often and understand was due to unprecedented
demand on launch, however, they do now seem to have resolved most of these problems.

The most frustrating part of using this line, is that a recorded
message advises you that you can access your account on-line etc etc, quite
frustrating when on most occasions, the only reason you telephone them is when
the web-site fails.

On the occasions I have used this service, I have always found
them to be friendly, efficient and helpful.

OTHER SERVICES
They offer occasional payment holidays, which for me, seem to coincide with
the aftermath of Christmas and they allow you to change your statement date
once a year, free of charge, I took advantage of this, after changing my job
and finding that the payment date fell before I got paid.

They do not charge an annual fee, although this is now common
with the new breed of credit cards.

In summary, an overall good service, but BEWARE, they do offer
high credit limits and increase them without notice, can be dangerous if you are a shopaholic.
